Ruaridh Lever HoggFormer Mary Hare School student, Ruaridh Lever-Hogg, is taking part in the TV series, The Big Painting Challenge, which is on BBC ONE on Sunday nights at 6pm.

At 24, Ruaridh is the youngest contestant on the show. Originally from Lochaber in Scotland, Ruaridh gets his inspiration from Cezanne and the Surrealist movement and likes to use strong and bold colours to impact his audience.

Diagnosed as deaf at the age of two, Ruaridh believes that his lack of hearing has intensified his visual perception. As he returns to study for a Masters in Fine Art Humanities at the University of Dundee Ruaridh hopes that the experience of The Big Painting Challenge will be an opportunity to channel his style. Art is a way for him to express himself and his unique sense of humour, and he is eager to continue to learn.

Everyone at Mary Hare Hearing Services (Arlington Laboratories, Hearing Aid Repair Shop and Mary Hare Hearing Centre) wish Ruaridh all the very best of luck for the remainder of the competition.

Mary Hare Hearing Services give 50% of their profits to Mary Hare School.
