Hours: Part-time (up to 22.5 hours per week)

Are you passionate about helping people hear better and improving their quality of life? At the Mary Hare Hearing Centre, we’re looking for a caring and motivated Hearing Care Assistant (HCA) to join our friendly team.

This role is open to both aspiring HCAs who wish to train in audiology and experienced HCAs already qualified in hearing care and wax removal. You’ll be joining an independent, patient-focused practice that values time, care, and genuine connection over sales targets.

As part of the wider Mary Hare charity, your work will also help support the education of deaf children — so this is a role where you can make a real difference every day.

Why join us?

✅ Work in a respected independent practice with a strong reputation for care
✅ Be part of a supportive team that prioritises quality time with patients
✅ Enjoy professional development opportunities, whether you’re starting or advancing your HCA career
✅ Play a meaningful role in supporting Mary Hare’s charitable mission to help deaf children
✅ Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Kind, patient, and confident communicating with people of all ages
  • Organised, reliable, and attentive to detail
  • Comfortable using computer systems and handling clinic administration
  • Enthusiastic about learning and developing new clinical skill

If you’re already qualified: You’ll be able to use your existing HCA and wax removal skills to provide independent patient care, with opportunities to further expand your scope and support the wider team.

If you’re new to hearing care: You’ll receive comprehensive training and mentoring to build your clinical and communication skills from the ground up.

About the Role

As an HCA at the Mary Hare Hearing Centre, you’ll work closely with our experienced Audiologists to provide high-quality, person-centred hearing care.

Depending on your experience and training, your responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting initial hearing screenings for new clients;
  • Providing aftercare services such as hearing aid cleaning, re-tubing, and troubleshooting;
  • Guiding patients on the use and care of their hearing aids;
  • Performing delegated clinical tasks such as otoscopy and impression taking (following training and competency checks);
  • Performing hearing aid adjustments for existing clients;
  • For qualified candidates: independently delivering wax removal services and HCA-led clinics
  •  Managing appointments, hearing aid orders, and patient records;
  • Helping maintain a well-organised, welcoming, and professional clinic environment.

You’ll receive full support and supervision from our Audiology team. For candidates new to the role, we’ll provide structured in-house and external training leading to recognised HCA competency.
